GOBI launches webinar series

Starting on Wednesday 28 October 2020 and until January 2021, GOBI presents a series of six webinars, one for each of its major research themes, and presented by the research leads. They will highlight the results from the past four-and-a-half years’ work funded by Germany’s IKI grant. The one-hour webinars will include an interactive Question & Answer session.

The schedule is:

  • WEDNESDAY 28 OCTOBER 2020 – 2pm GMT / 3pm CET. Introducing Important Marine Mammal Areas
  • THURSDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2020 – time TBC. Here, there and everywhere: migratory connectivity in the ocean
  • THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2020 – time TBC. The utility of seabird tracking data to inform marine conservation
  • TUESDAY 8 DECEMBER 2020 – time TBC. Bioregionalisation of the Indian & southern Pacific Oceans
  • WEDNESDAY 13 JANUARY 2021 – time TBC. The Costa Rica Thermal Dome – international cooperation in areas beyond national jurisdiction
  • THURSDAY 28 JANUARY 2021 – 4pm GMT / 11am EST. Protecting biodiversity at deep-sea hydrothermal vents
