The first of six webinars in the GOBI webinar series was delivered on Wednesday 28 October 2020, introducing Important Marine Mammal Areas – IMMAs.

The presenters – Erich Hoyt, Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara and Simone Panigada, representing the Marine Mammal Protected Area Task Force – explained the concept of IMMAs and the efforts undertaken so far in applying it across the ocean in a region-by-region process.

The webinar was attended by over 100 participants, with ample time at the end for interaction with the presenters during a Q&A session moderated by the GOBI Secretariat.
